Hi Kelley elf,

I hope I'm directing this comment to the right
place--please let me know if I'm not.  The debates
which I'm assuming you are referring to have been
bothering me for additional reasons.  It seems that at
least half the threads on the list end up being an
ethics discussion rather than a discussion of the
Harry Potter books.  People seem to be using the
characters and themes in Harry Potter just as a
starting point for ethics discussions and very little
of these discussions has much to do with the books. 
It feels very off-topic to me but maybe I'm wrong.  If
there are people who really enjoy this type of
discussion maybe they could have it on another list? 
Just a suggestion...
