Weasleys OOP was Peter Pettigrew - Questions and Commentary

Ok, now that I am at home and have my book handy...this is what I 
have found in regards to the Weasleys being a part of the first 
Order.
"Is anyone going to bother telling me what the Order of the Phoenix -
----?"
"Its a secret society," said Hermione quickly.  "Dumbledore's in 
charge, he founded it.  It's the people who fought against You-Know-
Who last time."
So, that would mean that the Weasleys WERE in the Order.  Now having 
found that bit, Do we know if the Order was well known or was it a 
quiet society then?
