IMHO, I dont but that, not one bit. I believe that Snape does
indeed go back to V, and because he is so good at occlumency he is
able to fool V that he has never gone back to the other side. In
OOP 531 Snape is explaining this to Harry...
"The Dark Lord, for instance, almost always knows when somebody is
lying to him. Only those skilled at Occlumency are able to shut
down those feelings and memories that contradict the lie, and so
utter falsehoods in his presence without detection"
That right there IMO is a big clue that Snape is still going back to
V as a faithful DE.
