I think you're on to something with this. The last time I read SS it
popped out to me when Firenze I believe is was said something
like 'it is always the innocent who are the first victims' you can
read this as surface of it will be innocent people in general or you
can see it as more specific
1) sirius. i know he wasn't the 'first' to die but he was close. He
spent the last twelve years of his life locked in azkaban for a crime
he was wrongly acused of- he was innocent.
2) cedric, the first to die literally, could be seen as innocent in a
way as well, or at least falsely accused of being a bad/useless
person. First by ron just because he beat gryffindor at quidditch,
then by harry for dating cho, the girl he liked.
