I think I like this theory too. I don't think it will be unusual if 
twins indeed were not told about it till they are grown, or never.

I was actually very surprised when I came to the United States that 
children are often told that they are adoptive.

In the country where I come from, children usually never know, unless 
the circumstances are highly unusual.
