I snipped your correction of my post. I should know better not to 
check canon first!  I can see the literary hints that the twins 
could be adopted.  I hope not, because the hints fit with what non-
adoptive families "think" adoption is like. But JKR wouldn't be the 
first author to get it wrong.

Actually I agree with your ideas  with the twins each being named 
for one of the brothers.  I think that would be less likely if they 
were the sons of one brother.
