There is a variant of your arguement that should also be considered.
The core of Harry's protection is based on the sacrafice of Lily's
blood. What would the sacrifice of more blood from the same line,
willing or unwilling, do to this protection? Is it possible that an
attack by Voldemort or his followers on the Dursleys could increase
the level of protection that Harry has?
Umtil Voldemort knows enough to answer questions like these, the
Dursleys are probably safe from him.
