One word: Ron.  IF one of the main foci of the films is shifting toward the 
SHIPping PoV, then Ron's reaction to Krum is VERY important to the film.

There's also the whole conversation between Snape and Karkaroff - though 
honestly, that information would fit just as well in Igor's visit to Severus' 
classroom, no?
