bamf here:
I can forgive the 'fan posted a message on the
'Rumours' section' as simply the writer did not
understand that it was JKR posting the rumors she's
heard and replying to them.

I didn't find any other glaring mistakes.  They must
have changed it as the article reads: "As well as
confirming that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
had at one point been a contender for the title of the
second volume in the series (now Harry Potter and the
Chamber of Secrets),"  which to my knowledge was
correct.
