Yep, fresh back from the Worldchat, in which JKR answered, but 
didn't answer my question, about why Dumbledore trusted Snape.

Anyhow, JKR has confirmed that James, Sirius, Peter and Remus were 
all Gryffindors. I really do like it when I get something right. 

JKR also appeared to shoot down the theory about Snape being a 
vampire. No doubt some will argue that there is wriggle room in what 
she said though?
