 I think it was a less obvious way of messing with us, as she loves 
to do. She knew the internet fans would pick up on that one.  So many 
fans worry about Ron, it's easy for her to scare us.  What I found 
more intersting was-

"gazza: will harry become head master of hogwarts 
JK Rowling replies -> I'm not sure I can see Harry in an academic 
career, he's seen so much action!"

This gave me a little hope she won't ruthlessly kill Harry, but I 
won't be able to relax until I've read the last page of book 7. (If 
she does kill him, I'll go into mourning and wear black for two 
weeks...at least)
