PS (from Bloomsbery, 1997) - "Yeah," said Hagrid in a very muffled
voice. "I'd best get this bike away. ..."
SS (Scholastic, 1999) - "Yeah," said Hagrid in a very muffled voice.
"I'll be takin' Sirius his bike back. ...."
Thanks for the help. I have to say things like this worry me. I can't
help wondering how and why these changes get made. Did the US
publisher make this decision on his own based on what he thought was a
clarification, or did JKR approve the changes first?
The real problem is that we really don't know what will be significant
in later books. So, a seemingly minor change now could possibly become
very significant later. This is after all a mystery, and until they
are revealed, we don't know what might be a clue.
Anyway... thanks for the help.
