I am thinking Harry will have a lot to think about during his (hopefully 
short) stay at the Dursleys this summer...and he turns 16; he most certainly will be much matured in the next book, hopefully more prepared to be less rash and 'think' more, and perhaps as realizing others have good opinions as well (i.e. Hermione, Snape, etc...) and need to work together.

I too read the book saying to myself 'the mirror, Harry, get the mirror!'
