form of one of the children to lure Harry (or another child) into

I believe that she will die, just like her cousin Sirius.  

I also think that if she dies, while in the form of one of the 
children, the surviving characters may believe that one of the main 
three children died -- not realizing that it's Tonks.  

This could make matters worse because someone may act irrationally 
when confronted with, lets say, Ron, Hermione, or Harry's presumed 
death.
