Actually, Ollivander doesn't say that the wand was bought by Voldemort
*as* Voldemort. After informing Harry that he remembers every wand
he's ever sold and talking about the phoenix feathers, he says, "It is
very curious indeed that you should be destined for this wand when its
brother--why, its brother gave you that scar." Then he describes the
wand and says, the wand chooses the wizard remember. . . . I think we
must expect great things from you, Mr. Potter. After all, He-Who-Must-
Not-Be-Named did great things. Terrible, but great" (SS Am. ed. 85).

So the "great things" were performed after Tom Riddle was transformed
into Voldemort, but there's no indication that the wand itself was
bought by Voldemort in post-Tom Riddle form. It's still quite
possible, and I think likely, that the wand sensed the power of the
eleven-year-old Tom just as its brother chose the eleven-year-old Harry.

As for how Ollivander knew that Tom Riddle became Voldemort (mentioned
a part of your post that I snipped--sorry), why couldn't Dumbledore
have just told him? They're probably old friends. They could even be
about the same age, or as old as DD is, he could even be Ollivander's
former teacher. It's even possible that Ollivander is a secret member
of the Order, keeping an eye on all of the incoming Hogwarts first
years and reporting anyone suspicious or particularly interesting to
Dumbledore.
