It is actually quite simple if you think about it.  Who knows that 
the Maurauders are anamagi?  Just the four.  If somehow the enemy 
knew that they were anamagi, it is apparent that one of the four is a 
spy.  This information was held back so that PP could keep his 
cover.  I think that it is that simple.
