Lupin's resentment

When I raised the issue of Lupin's possible resentment, I in no way 
whatsoever meant to disparage him in the slightest.  I adore Lupin.  
He is my favorite character.  He is also, IMHO, the most emotionally 
complex character in the entire series.  .  There is an inner 
conflict in Lupin that goes back to the Marauder days.  I have no 
doubt that he loves Harry.  That is what is so interesting.  I was 
wondering if Lupin felt any inner conflict between his love for 
Harry as a surrogate father figure and his love for Sirius as a 
surrogate brother.  To me, Sirius' death is kind of like a bridge 
from Lupin's past to his future.  Love, death and change are all 
difficult.
