And Snape is pretty clear that Harry's not practicing. So
Dumbledore might have allowed the pause or end to

There's the possibility that Dumbledore suspected that Harry's
failures were due neither to poor teaching (as Harry thinks) nor
poor study habits (as Snape thinks). The link between Harry and
Voldemort did not work in the same way as normal Legilimency
and it could be that Occlumency would have been
counterproductive in any case. ESE!Lupin theorist that I am, I
have always regarded Lupin's insistence that the lessons
*must* be continued with a great deal of suspicion.
