As for me - I had not given it a thought that it might not be 
Bellatrix who fired the shots against Sirius when I read the book 
alone.
Later - when it was translated into my language I read it out loud to 
my 11-year old son. When we got to the fighting part in the DOM - the 
first thing *he* said after hearing the incident between Sirius and 
Bellatrix was: "She didn't do it. The shot came from somewhere else!"
