If DD is Ron it makes sense.  If Voldemort were to find out that 
DD=Ron then Ron would also become a target of the DEs.

I suspect that we'll find that Ron (and Hermione and their families)
will become targets of the DEs anyway.  I doubt LV needs to see that
Ron=DD for that to happen.  After the MoM fight, if not before, LV
will know that Harry has several close friends/allies who are also
becoming dangerous to LV but who may not be as well protected as
Harry.  I think that LV may (at least in Book 6) concentrate on
weakening Harry by attacking those around him--as he has failed
miserably when going after Harry directly.

I don't think this statement by DD provides evidence that Ron=DD,
although if you already accept the theory, it may be interpreted as
corroboration.
