That is very very true, but after ooP I strongly question
Dumbledore's wisdom in making such decision.

Yes,

I am sure humiliating Snape came as extra bonus to Lupin, but I still
think that he had Neville's needs in mind when he taught him how to
deal with Boggart!Snape.
Yes, Snape did not stop bullying Neville at all, but if even once
when Snape has a go at him, Neville can imagine dear Severus in a
dress and laugh, if his confidence increased at least tiny-tiny bit,
Lupin achieved his purpose.
Snape certainly got him good, poor man still could not find a job at
the end of OoP.
