And now new stuff:

This relates to something I posted a while back in post #91486 ( I
couldn't re-post it all here, but it's worth a look), some of which
I've snipped above, just so you know what the heck I'm talking about.
Anyway, this thought occured to me today, and I thought I'd like to
add it:

In OOP, when Harry and the rest visit Gilderoy Lockhart at St.
Mungo's, they end up in the "Janus Thickey" ward. Janus Thickey, we
found out a while back, was a wizard who, in 1973, *faked his own
death* by leaving a note on the bedside table for his wife, claiming
that he had been killed by a Lethifold. As described in Fantasic
Beasts, a Lethifold, also known as a Living Shroud, is a "dangerous
beast resembling a half-inch thick black cloak which moves along the
ground at night, hunting its prey. It attacks sleeping humans,
smothers them, then digests them, all in their bed, leaving no trace
at all. The only defense against a Lethifold is a Patronus Charm.
Thankfully, this frightening creature is rare, only found in the
tropics ."

Knowing JKR's sly sense of humor and keeping in mind how she enjoys
messing with us by giving us insignificant-seeming clues along the
way, could it be that she was trying to tell us something? It seems
to me that it can't possibly be a coincidence that, in the very same
book in which we lose Sirius, we are reminded of a *wizard* who has
*faked his own death* via a *black shroud (veil!)*, only to return
shortly thereafter alive and well. Further, didn't Sirius spend some
time hanging out in the tropics after his escape?

Tell me: am I seeing things, or is there really something here?
