I think that something (possibly an attack by DEs that either
accidentally or purposely affects muggles as well as magic folk) will
happen that will at the least require the Minister of Magic (whoever
that turns out to be) to inform the muggle Prime Minister (for the
truly literal, we're talking about Tony Blair here, folks).  There've
been some other threads lately that have speculated that magic folk
are somehow immune to common everyday muggle methods of inflicting
injury and death (i.e., bullets).  I don't think that's true in every
circumstance, but I agree that common muggle strategems would probably
be pretty useless against a group of hostile wizards/witches.

I'm not sure I expect the Grangers to be active in the fight, but I
others have suggested they may be targeted by LV.  I don't think
individual attacks on a few muggles would be enough to involve the
muggle authorities, but who knows?
