Oh, but it does not really matter for story line purposes, right?

I mean, so what if for some abstract children in Hogwarts Snape's
teaching method may work. It does not work for Harry or Neville, IMO
(at least untill I see any specific positive results, I am not
persuaded).

JKR shows us only some potions classes and I think that based on them
we are supposed to form our opinion of Snape's teaching abilities. :o)

Or maybe not, but that's what I do, anyway. :)

See, no matter how much I adore JRK work and emotionally attached to
her characters, I don't think that she means to hide a lot from us in
terms of character development (plot twist is a totally different
story, of course), therefore I allow myself to be manipulated by her.

If somebody in real life would tell me that eleven year old children
could be reincarnation of all evil, I would have a strong desire to
slap that person silly.

When I read these books, I realise perfectly well that Slytherin
house (except Snape, whom I am not so sure was a Slyth) is a
caricature, but at the same time I have absolutely no desire to root
for them, because JKR did not show me yet any good Slytherin so far
(I hope it changes in book 6).

Why should I imagine that good Slytherins exist, when I see other
characters which appeal to me much stronger to root for. I just don't
bother.

Same with Snape teaching abilities, Snape ability to feel anything
except hate to Gryffs, etc.
