Subject: Ollivander a Dragon Slayer?
Ollivander had always been a person that has gotten my
attention. He
makes all the wands for everyone, we know that. He
collects the
finest things for his materials: Phoenix feathers,
unicorn hair,
dragon heartstring....
Dragon heartstring?
OK, Fawkes is bound to shed feathers from time to
time. I'm sure
others like him do the same.

Any thoughts?

Mo:
I was laughing so hard when I read your post. I never
gave Olivander wand cores a second thought, but now
that you mention it, it does seem a little odd,
doesn't it?
We don't know too much about the slaying of dragons,
if it is allowed and whatnot. But, dragons are pretty
big, and I am guessing their hearts are too, and if
there is only one heartstring per wand, I am guessing
one heart could produce several thousand heartstrings
and make several wands.
So, to stay in buisness, he would only have to slay
maybe one dragon ever 10 years or so. This is
strictly by speculation and pure "guesstimation" that
I come to this conclusion. I really have no idea how
many "strings" are in a dragon heart.
But, you bring up a rather interesting and unique
topic! Hmmm... Suddenly I am getting images of a
little Mr. Olivander sleighing mighty dragons and
hiding behind bushes patiently waiting for the next
unsuspecting Unicorn to walk by as he yanks out some
of its tail.
