I agree with Jessa. "I don't *think* so" in this context means
"absolutely not." If JKR thinks Snape has no connection with vampires,
then he has none. He not only isn't a vampire himself, he isn't
associated with them in any way, shape, or form. Not even Karkaroff,
who is at least from the right part of Europe (unlike the very English
Snape), can be a vampire if JKR doesn't "think" Snape is associated
with vampires.
Even old Voldy can't be a vampire if Snape has no connection with
them. (Anybody for Viktor Krum as a vampire candidate if you
absolutely must have one?)
