Snape as struggling convert?

The Leaky Cauldron has posted a link to a very interesting article
comparing Snape to a convert to Judaism. Sounds strange, I realize,
but I think the writer shows some insights into Snape's internal
struggle as far as it can be determined from our outsider's
perspective (seeing beyond what Harry sees). Forgive me if this link
has already been posted, but I'm very behind as usual. I recommend the
article for both those who like Snape and those who hate him so that
they'll understand why some of us admire him or even identify with him
despite his many faults:
