Good post!

As for the quote in the prophecy, it says "The one with the power to 
Vanquish the dark Lord approaches.........
And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live 
while the other survives....."

So, there is a part where it does talk about dying.  But, the 
term "die" can be taken in several ways.

If I may add to your post, I too think the "power the Dark Lord knows 
not" is, indeed, Love.  I think LV will cause his own destruction 
because when he does experience love for the first time, it will be 
too overwhelming and it will be the one ancient force he will be 
unable to conquer.  Also, the phrase "love your enemies"...  I think 
that might apply in the end.  I think the love LV might find from HP 
is the fact that HP will forgive him and that will be too much for LV 
to bear.
