And on another note, a few months ago someone suggested that Alan 
Rickman is the reason there are so many Snape supporters.  Most of us

I would just like to point out that I read books 1-4 before watching 
any of the movies and that I had no idea Alan Rickman was to be Snape 
in the movies - but I loved Severus' character in the books long 
before I started liking him in the movies as well :-)
