Snape will have to go after Bellatrix now (hmmm...) - she robbed him 
of the victim he would in all probability have liked to keep for 
himself. Yes, I bet he is sorry someone else was just a bit 
quicker... Too late now to slip a nice untraceable and slow-working 
poison in Black's cup...
