I'm not sure agree with the Hermione is jealous of Luna line of 
argument.  Hermione reacts in an entirely natural way to a girl who 
is almost the antithesis of her.  She reacts to Luna's wild 
assertions, not to Luna herself.  And she reacts to her long before 
Luna demonstrates in any *real* way that she *might* have a crush on 
Ron.  I don't think the two are connected personally.
