So, there we have... two people who hate each other, one
humiliated/hurt by the other before, and the ex-victim ready to
make the bully pay, waiting for any excuse to strike.

Am I only one who sees the likeness? Do you know of other moments
where Snape and Harry had the same reactions in similar situations?

Harry and Snape have similar backgrounds. The difference between
them is how they deal with there past. Snape is bitter and cannot
let go of the past, while Harry is compassionate and is able to care
for others.

The begining of OOTP also reminds me of the penseive scene but in a
different way. If you didn't know who Dudley was and happened to
come upon the scene where Harry is taunting him (the scene right
before the dementor attack), what kind of an opinion would you have
of Harry? Would you think that Harry was a bully? (I'm not condoning
Sirius and James actions towards Snape, but we also don't know
anything about what, if anything, may have precipitated that
event.)
