Anne, you are absolutely right. Had Severus calmed down a bit and did 
that right away, I guess we would be reading a different story. I am 
certainly ready to excuse his behaviour as temporary insanity, but I 
am not ready to praise it.

While I was feeling bad for both Snape and Sirius in the Shrieking 
Shack, Harry is definitely the one, who behaved maturely there and 
deserves praise for that, IMO.
