I agree. I read the books aloud to my 3 kids - and my oldest sits on long distance from Texas (she is 22) because she says I do the voices the best. My youngest is 10 and he will stand up and act out the action as I read. We plan to re-read SS on his 11th birthday (same age as Harry). Yes, there are words that he has trouble with when he reads it himself, but I help him with them. There are also things that are over his head, but my favorite books are the ones that you discover something new each time you read it, and I see this with the kids as they grow. They will discover new things each time as they get older on grasp more. Will a 10 year old get the same out of it as a 22 year old? No! But that is okay.
