Could be, but if DE eat only Voldemort's death, it would mean that 
they personally get nothing from it - no immortality, nothing. So, 
why would they stay with Voldemort? What is it in there for them?

I guess I still prefer the idea of DE and Vodemort eating or 
drinking some metaphorical part of death in general, which would 
give them all immortality.
