Wow.  I wish I knew what my opinion was, Alla, but I'm not sure I've 
thought enough about this particular possibility to have much of 
one.  I suppose we can assume, from FB as well as the HPs, that 
centaurs elected to separate themselves from humans.  But goblins?  
The history of the house elves?  Giants?  Who knows?

I defer to others with deeper thoughts on this!
