The message was truncated at this point (thanks, Yahoo!) but I think
Snape did an excellent job of giving Harry a sign he'd understood his
strange comment.  He intervened to save a Gryffindor (Neville=Sirius)
from a Slytherin (Crabbe=Voldemort).  And by using Neville as the
reason for his intervention, he ensured he'd get Harry's attention.  

I got the coded message as soon as I read it and laughed out loud.
