I think it makes sense.  One of the things that bugged me about the
end of the book was when Harry was in the hospital wing with Hermione
and Ron recovering.  Not once does it cross his mind that these are
his best friends, that they're in the hospital because they followed
him even though they had qualms and that he feels even slightly
humbled about this loyalty and determined to do better at deserving
it.

Yeah, yeah, I know he was numb with grief over Sirius yadda yadda but
that's even more reason to reflect on the friends you've got left.
