DD is the equivelant of God in the series. IMO. and JKR shows him to
be a kind, loving person with the same personaliy that God has.
Also DD was trying to protect Harry by not being around him much in
OP because he was afaid that LV would posess Harry in an attempt to
get to DD. DD is not afraid for himself, but for Harry. I don't
think that DD is afraid of anything, he has seen it all. And he has
a undying faith in the goodness of humankind, and all kind for that
matter.
