Snape called Lily "mudblood" for the same reason that Draco calls
Hermione "mudblood" because she is Muggleborn.
IMO Lily is linked with every male in her year because she is the
only female character for that generation in the series. With
Harry's generation we have a number of pairings for our discussions.
