The map seems to update itself.  It shows a little Harry Potter 
hitting the statue to go into the passage.  Lupin  watches the map 
to see the Trio leave the castle to go to Hagrid's on the fateful 
night in PoA.  Crouch!Moody uses the map to see his father enter the 
grounds, and sneak up on Viktor Krum and so forth.
