OK. Remove (or severely downgrade) the adults.
Remove Sirius and his back story. Do the same to Snape, Peter, Voldy
and stuff like the betrayal. Delete DD's plan, what it is and how it will
be executed, what part Harry plays in it.
What are you left with?
Some kid with a wand.
Not very exciting, is it?
Without the adults there would have been no plot in any of the books.
I'm willing to bet the same will be true of the future 2 volumes.
