Geoff:
Possibly not from Harry's point of view. He may have latched on to a 
hundred years as just a figure, drawing on bits and pieces of 
information Hagrid and others have produced.

He may not have picked up on Grindelwald in particular; he's merely 
someone mentioned on Dumbledore's Frog Card along with his other 
achievements.
