Chancie:
I see Draco as the type of person who would be spiteful enough to 
fight for something, just to piss his enemies off. Does anyone else 
see this?

I see it too.  Up until the end of OoP, the was a very small 
possibility (IMHO) that Draco could help unite the houses.  After 
his reaction to his father's arrest, it is highly unlikely.
