I don't think anyone's ever questioned DD's intelligence and 
experience. He's been around for over a century, sure he's seen 
almost everything, but we are talking about the *worse* wizard of all 
times, how could he ever know from experience what's about to happen? 
I see DD as an outside observer (of course an inside player too) who 
sees it all as a time line. I recently logged on HP Lexicom and 
checked out their timelines, what if DD sees the world like this? He 
almost always seems to know what to do next. I don't think he goes 
back on time to change things, that could lead to terrible 
consequences and I'm sure he knows better. 

On the other hand he may not know more than other teacher about 
what's going on in the casttle...
