Carol again:
Yes: "Lestrange" definitely suggests that Bellatrix, her husband, and
her brother-in-law are strange. But why two Lestrange brothers? We
have two contrasting Dumbledore brothers, one of whom we haven't seen
much of yet, and two Black brothers, who took opposing sides in VW1
(and are both now dead as the partial consequence of their own
choices). Are Rodolphus and Rabastan part of that pattern of
contrasting brothers, as they appear to be in the Pensieve scene? And
who is who? Is Rabastan yet another hanger-on like Peter Pettigrew,
staying with his brother and Bellatrix because he can't find a
pureblood wife of his own? "I have no life, Bellatrix, but in thee"?
Why bring him into the story? Any ideas?
Carol
