Yes, this has occurred to me too, though in my head I file that under the DD
as manipulative bastard conspiracy theory file. Plotwise, JKR clearly
wanted to introduce LV at this point, but doing so via a detention from MM
just reads like a very ham-handed way of doing so to me. The whole time, I
was thinking, "what the hell?" about MM instead of LV and the unicorns.
