Someone's had an interesting idea on the Leaky Cauldron comments 
section. JK originally planned for Chapter 1 of HBP to be the first 
chapter of PS/SS. So Chapter 1 of HBP must deal with the murder of 
the Potters in Godrics Hollow. If Chapter 2: 'Spinners End' continues 
this theme, it could answer the question of where Hagrid took Harry 
in those missing 24 hours.
