Well, the Black Family Inheritance has been discussed before, and that
touched on Kreacher but I don't think we were ever able to come to an
agreement. I'll give you some links later.

My own personal opinion is that the next time we see Kreacher he will
be hanging on the wall with his ancestors. When Dumbledore questioned
him near the end of OotP, I think he saw that Kreacher had gone
completely around the bend, and had become so trecherous that he could
no longer be trusted. Given that he was extremely old and pretty much
useless, as well as dangerous, I think Dumbledore 'put him to rest' as
a casualty of war.

Of course, I can't prove that.
