Snape Smiles!

In POA, there is cannon for the ability of Snape to smile.  It is a 
grim smile.  

US paperback version page 382:
The Griffindor Quidditch team has just taken the field to cheers from 
3/4 crowd....
"Behind the Slytherin goalposts, however, two hundred people were 
wearing green; the silver serpent of Slytherin glittered on their 
flags, and Professor Snape sat in the very front row, wearing green 
like everyone else, and a very grim smile."

Not only did he have a smile but he was not wearing black.
